Consumer’s homes all over the world have been using American freezer fridges ever since the early 1950s. These fridges are one of the top competitors against the Japanese freezer fridges since there are several brands that are known for innovation in both design and features. If storage space isn’t a major concern, you can go for the American models that have a water and ice dispenser that is commonly seen in French door refrigerators and side-by-side refrigerators. If you need the water and ice dispenser feature that goes lightly on the storage space, look for any “door integrated” models where the dispenser is located on the side door.

Larger items such as gallon-sized drinks do not go well with average refrigerators and other foreign models. Some American freezer models have a dedicated storage area known as a “Gallon Door Storage” to solve that problem. Some of the more affordable models may not have as many features, but they feature the classic nostalgic look. The Whirlpool Corporation not only markets their own Whirlpool models, but also popular freeze fridge brands including Amana, which is famous for their French door refrigerators and Maytag which offers refrigerators that have freezers on both the bottom or top. General Electric is also known for bringing premium refrigerators to households.

When purchasing an American freezer fridge, try to go for the ones that have a high energy efficiency rating because American fridges in general are meant to last long so you can save a lot in the long run if the energy consumption is low. Fridges that come with anti-bacterial filters are also good. As for the rest of the features, evaluate them and see which ones you only need so you do not have to overspend on a fridge that has too many features.
